About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a software engineering background and experience delivering fintech or payments products. You will combine people leadership with technical judgement, helping engineers grow while keeping delivery focused, transparent, and sustainable. Working with product and business stakeholders, you will establish clear priorities and a high standard of engineering practice.
Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers through regular feedback, clear expectations, and practical development plans.
- Guide technical decisions for scalable, secure payment systems and promote sound engineering practices.
- Work with product and business stakeholders to align technical delivery with shared priorities.
- Set team goals, track progress, and communicate delivery risks and decisions clearly.
- Strengthen code quality, operational readiness, and collaboration across the engineering team.
- Bring security and financial-services compliance considerations into engineering discussions and delivery planning.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience and three years leading or coordinating engineers, including at least two years in a management role.
- A track record of building and shipping fintech or payments products.
- A strong technical background in Java, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers in an agile delivery environment.
- Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services.
- Strong English communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex decisions clearly.
